And a lot of people came out of the movie theatre saying that they especially enjoyed the second half, when Kalki’s character gets married at a beautiful destination wedding in Udaipur. It almost felt like something they would’ve attended, because of the little details, the naturalness of the scenes and the ease of the setting.The wedding sequence in ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ was in fact based on a very real and very different wedding from what you see in the film. The Wedding Filmer is an Indian company that makes these sweet little wedding videos for people getting married and here is the wedding they were working on when director Ayan Mukerji approached them to help with the wedding in his film.
In a small ancestral village in Gujarat, these two Patel families and their friends gathered over three days to celebrate the wedding of Amruta and Samir. Amruta, a simple, no-nonsense bride, was absolutely clear that she wanted her wedding to be all about the people important to her; it was about friendship, family and finding love in the oddest places for her.
